Wineglass Bay – voted one the world's 10 best beaches many times over – is a secluded part of Tasmania's rugged coastline, surrounded by the Freycinet National Park, 125 kilometres northeast of Hobart. Founded in 1916, it is the oldest park in Tasmania, along with Mount Field National Park.

This spectacular area is significant for the Devonian Granite and pink feldspar, which gives the coastline and mountain range a distinctive pink tint. With a vast array of species endemic to the area, observant visitors can spot possums, echidnas, wombats, bettongs and potoroos.

The crystal clear waters and sheltered calmness of Wineglass Bay brings Bottlenose Dolphins, Humpback Whales and Southern Right Whales in close to shore to calve, feed and rest.

Fishing, boating, kayaking, rock climbing, quad biking and bushwalking are regular pastimes in the area, with accommodation at nearby Coles Bay suitable for all budgets and preferred experiences. Whether you'd rather the communal living of a backpacker hostel, a caravan or B&B, there is great accommodation for everyone.

If you'd prefer to sail around the bays, watch the sunset over the pink mountains from a luxury cruiser or even view the spectacular scenery from the air, these are all options open to you at breathtaking Wineglass Bay. Its profound beauty, sense of stillness and ethereal calm makes this one of the most beautiful places on earth to visit. Enjoy a private picnic, a stroll along the pristine sands and hundreds of photo opportunities.
